WHY HAVE A COMMUNITY DEVELOPMENT UNIT?

Council recognises the importance of the community as a living and thriving entity. Community Development is an essential component of Council’s business in how it:

  • maintains an accurate picture of the community’s issues, problems and opportunities.

Community Development plays a key role in supporting Council’s community planning function (LTCCP) and advice to the Chief Executive on community matters.
