Bus Service
Council’s bus service is provided by Red Bus Service, 136 Derby Street, Gisborne ph: (06) 867 7423.
There are 2 buses operating to and from the city centre in Bright Street and the outer suburbs. No service is provided for rural areas outside the city, or coastal and rural townships.

Cycling
Cycle lanes are provided in parts of Gladstone and Ormond roads.
Some popular road cycling routes are:
- Kaiti Hill/Titirangi Domain along Queen’s Drive and Titirangi Drive
- Valley Road, Barkers Hill Road and down Ballance Street
- Riverside Road.
Mountain biking
The 22ha Whataupoko Reserve, at the end of Fox St, has a network of tracks used for mountain biking as well as walking, running, family activities and exercising dogs.
BMX biking
BMX tracks are available at:
- the Lytton Road BMX track
- Alfred Cox Park.
Walking
Numerous walkways are maintained around the district including:
- Titirangi-Kaiti Hill
- Whataupoko Reserve, end of Fox St
- Taruheru/Turanganui River Frontage
- Lysnar Reserve (Wainui)
- Makorori Headland
- Te Kuri Walkway

Total Mobility Card
Total Mobility is a nationwide project designed to increase the mobility of disabled people by using existing taxi fleets. It is funded locally by the Council and Transit New Zealand.
