War Memorial Theatre


The Building

The War Memorial theatre is situated on the corner or Bright St and Childers Road.

It is a concert style theatre: modern, comfortable and air conditioned. The seating is arranged theatre style. This is a fully equipped small theatre with dressing rooms, properly equipped with lights and mirrors, toilet and kitchen facilities. It has a capacity of 480 seats.

Auditorium / Stage

Stage measurements - Note small plan of obstructions behind proscenium arch. Proscenium arch width 7.5 metres, depth 7.2 metres, height from stage to bottom of curtain 4.07 metres, ceiling beam to bottom curtain 1.1 metres.


 

 

Lighting

Lighting desk - this can be operated from lighting box back upstairs circle or from stage, dimmer packs, three phase plugs are also there, five PDL 56, 30 AMP main fuse box and wiring alongside.

Lighting bars - four sets with winches with lighting looms to dimmer packs, plus lighting bar over auditorium approximately 2 metres from front of stage apron, this also has looms attached. Two sets of lighting trees, one set just inside proscenium arch, the other set on walls of auditorium.

Theatre provides four spotlights Par 64’s and six cyclights 800’s. More lighting is available on hire from theatre groups. Also available one club travel spot.

Dressing Rooms

Five carpeted, hot and cold water, mirrors, lights, intercom system between lighting box, stage dressing rooms. Three dressing rooms and toilets, stage level, the other two under stage, kitchen is also there along with supper room. No showers or laundry facilities.

 

 

Other Features

We have two pianos, Basendorter 2.5 Grand, excellent condition, Knight upright, fair condition. Amp and tape deck installed in lighting box connected to main theatre speakers. This can also be operated from stage with public address set up.

You can check the availability of the theatre by ringing our Customer Service team.
