Annual Report 2010-11

Gisborne District Council's 2010/11 Annual Report tells the story of our performance over the last financial year from 1 July 2010 to 30 June 2011.  It's a key accountability document for our communities and it explains how we spent your rates and the value received in return.  It highlights the areas we performed well in, the areas we need to improve and provides a context for where we need to head in future.

We are in a strong financial position, ending the financial year with a moderate surplus. However, rates affordability continues to be an issue.  During the year:

•  we improved our customer service performance
• an independent survey found that our district's residents are increasingly satisfied with most of our services and facilities
• our largest single infrastructure project - the city's wastewater treatment plant was successfully completed
