Closure of Gladstone Road

Town Clock New Year's Celebrations

Under the Local Government Act 1974 section 342 and Transport (Vehicular Traffic Road Closure) Regulations 1965

Notice is hereby given that the Gisborne District Council, for the purpose of allowing the New Year's Eve Town Clock Celebrations, proposes to close the following roads to ordinary vehicle traffic from 6pm Thursday 31 December 2009 to 2am 1 January 2010.

• Gladstone Road from the town clock to the Derby Street & Bright Street intersections
• Grey Street - 50m each side of Gladstone Road
• Bright Street access to Gladstone Road will not be available during the closure.

During the proposed period of closure there will be no provision for ordinary vehicle traffic which would otherwise use the roads.

Any person objecting to the proposal can lodge a notice of objection in writing before 4pm Friday 20 November 2009 at the council office, Fitzherbert Street.
