The regional coastal environment plan for the Gisborne region is currently in proposed form. One issue remains to be resolved before the plan can be made operative. The issue relates to a visual easement from the Cook Landing Site to Te Kuri A Paoa - Young Nick's Head. Once resolved, the plan can be referred to the Minister of Conservation for approval and then be made operative by council.
