Direct credit payment

Direct credit or automatic payment to our bank account.  You can pay us by electronic bank transfer.  We don't have an online credit card facility.

In the reference field please say what the payment is for, such as parking, camp permit, dog reg, etc. 
If you have an invoice please quote the invoice number or your surname.

Paying your rates 

You can pay your rates directly into our bank account by:

• telephone banking
• internet banking
• direct credit via your bank

You just need your property assessment or valuation number; this is on your rates account.

You can pay your rates by regular payments from your bank account, weekly, fortnightly, or monthly to suit your budget and pay days. 

If you want to set it up at your bank, fill in this form and take the form to your bank.  They will set up an automatic payment (direct credit) for you.

Make sure your payments are enough

It is your responsibility to make sure the full amount of the instalment is paid by the penalty date. If you are late, a 10% penalty is added to any amount not paid.

You should tell us that you have set up a regular payment plan.   Customer service can also calculate the amount for you.   

Paying other invoices or more than one rate account

You can pay several items on one single transaction by electronic or telephone banking. Transactions such as:

• multiple rate accounts
• water rates
• parking ticket
• property search
• freedom camping permit
• dog registration

Enter 'various' in the reference field, and

• Email us service@gdc.govt.nz to tell us what your paying and the amounts, and
• Remember to quote the rates valuation numbers, parking ticket number etc
