Events made easier for organiser
Event organisers large and small are loving having the relatively newly established customer coordination specialist. Angela Stuart is the go-to person to ensure all the right boxes have been ticked off before events themselves get the go ahead.
It’s been a busy run with 37 approvals leading up to Christmas and plenty more to come.
“We've had great feedback from recent event organisers who appreciate having just one person to contact and who can join all the dots,” she says. “Events all have different requirements and can be complex and logistically hard to navigate across Council.”
One of the biggest challenges for many organisers is developing a traffic management plan. If required, Angela can help to facilitate this process.
From large events like Fire in the Sky and the kapa haka festival to small fundraisers like kids’ fishing competitions and Christmas parades up the coast - they may include food, alcohol requirements, consents, reserve bookings, health and safety concerns.
We want people to come and have their events in Gisborne, and we don't want our processes to be an impediment to this.
