Extraordinary meeting on Gladstone Rd Bridge
Council will hold an extraordinary meeting on Tuesday to review options for installing see-through sides on the Gladstone Road Bridge.
Mayor Meng Foon presented a late report to the Future Tairawhiti Committee meeting yesterday, seeking Council support to investigate replacing the concrete sides of the bridge design with an alternative that offers views of the rivers.
The committee resolved to leave the matter on the table while additional information is prepared on possible options and the financial repercussions of halting this project.
The meeting will be held at Council chambers on 2 October, starting at 9am.
