GizzyBus service gets new routes
GizzyBuses will be driving improved commuter routes and timetables around the city from Monday 4 April.
The new routes include stops on Valley Road, James and Winter Streets, Tyndall Road and Lawrence Street.
The bus service to Te Hapara will also now drive along Herbert Road instead of Wi Pere Street on its journey back to the Bright Street terminal in the city.
Timings of the buses have also been improved.
"Feedback we've received said users had to wait up to 2 hours for a bus at Gisborne Hospital, the improved timings means there'll now be a bus to the city stopping hourly at the hospital," says Tairawhiti Roads journey manager Helen Harris.
"Bus users heading to Kaiti will also be able to get on and off the bus outside Pak n Save."
The changes were approved last month after feedback from the community and bus user surveys completed in 2013 and 2015.
New timetables and maps are available from GizzyBus drivers and Council’s website and Fitzherbert Street office from Monday 4 April.
The new timetables will also be installed at the bus shelters from next week.
