Contact UsTell us your ideas and suggestions for your township.
Come along to your 2nd public workshop 26 May 2010, 6pm at the Manutuke Fire Station.
What is a Township Development Plan?
We want to help you and your community work out what you want to achieve in your community. Council calls this a township development plan.
This is not a council plan, it is a community plan. It should capture Manutuke’s vision for your place and guide Council in planning for the future.
How can you get involved?
If you want to make something happen in your community, we welcome your involvement. The success of your plan depends a lot on your local community working together with Council and other organisations. Council can help by organising:
■ open days and public workshops
■ art competitions for our young people
■ idea boxes
■ formal written submissions process.
If you have other ideas for how Council should engage with your community, please let us know.
What happens next?
We will take the information gathered from all of the discussions and submissions and prepare a draft Township Development Plan for Manutuke. We need to look at how we might help make some of the most important things happen and how we can get other agencies involved. Once the draft is finished, we will circulate it for comments to people who got involved. We hope that within 9 months we will have agreement with the community and other organisations on a final draft.
Then comes the fun part - making it all happen!
How can I contribute?
Keep an eye out for posters around Manutuke advertising workshops or meetings and come along. The workshops will be informal discussions and all ideas and contributions will be respected and considered by the community. If you want to receive information directly about the workshop please contact us and add your name to our key contacts register.
