Matawai and Motu Township Plan

Council is preparing a township plan for Matawai/Motu in 2010.

A public workshop was held on 9 February at the Matawai Fire Station.  We were really pleased to see a good number of you at the workshop.Matawai-Motu Workshop February

Workshop notes - February 2010

Look forward to seeing you at the next workshop in April.

What is a Township Development Plan?

The township plan will set out your community's vision of what you want Matawai/Motu to be like in 20 years.  It is a community plan that can help council and other agencies in developing and serving your community.

We urge you to get involved in developing the Matawai/Motu township Plan.  The success of the plan depends on the level of community support and on us all working together.

How can you get involved?

There are many ways you can get involved :

 ■ submit an idea in writing into our Ideas Boxes around the town and at the schools;

■ request a meeting with staff to discuss your ideas;

■ come along to the next public workshop in April;

■ submit an entry into the children's art competition through the schools; and

■ send us your name, postal address and phone/email to go onto our contacts list to get updates and invitations to future activities.
