National Heritage Fund applications open
Applications are now open for the Natural Heritage Fund, designed to assist private landowners to protect or enhance indigenous biodiversity on their land.
It is a small fund made available instead of rates remissions on a limited number of properties. Biodiversity protection and enhancement is a core activity of regional and unitary councils.
Any privately owned land within the Gisborne district is eligible to apply for funding. There’s about $40,000 available that can be allocated to one or more projects.
Applications for the 2020 funding round must be received by 5pm, Monday 14 October.
