Options for pool redevelopment
We surveyed the community in November 2017 and worked with users of the pool complex to ask what upgrades they preferred.
The preferred option was Design Option 3. During the 2018-2028 Long Term Plan consultation we went out for public feedback. From all the feedback received, concept option 3 comprising a multi-use 50m main pool was reconfirmed as Council’s preferred redevelopment option.
The Olympic Pool redevelopment project, if grant funded, will implement the best options for providing the community with aquatic and recreational experiences for the next 30 years.
Update - July 2020, the government announced that it would fund up to $40m for the redevelopment through the Crown Infrastructure Partners shovel-ready projects. Read more about the construction phases
