Parks & reserves

We have 116 reserves in our district covering approximately 1500 hectares - 225 hectares are dedicated and maintained for recreational activities. Of these reserves, 45 are high profile recreational, the majority of which are within Gisborne city.  There are 44 children's playgrounds within our district. 

We have 101 garden areas covering 8400 square metres with 6583 metres of paths and tracks.

Our parks and reserves staff are responsible for managing our neighbourhood reserves, sports grounds, riverbank walkways and public gardens.
