Consultation Policy 
Council's purpose is to make decisions and take action on behalf of its communities. This purpose is met when the community is knowledgeable about the issues and the effect of them on their well-being.

Development Contributions Policy
Development contributions reduce the pressure on rates by requiring that developers fund infrastructure associated with developments.

Dog Control Policy & Practices for 2008/2009 
The policy outlines expected standards and behaviours from dog owners and provides information about how council will administer dog control.

Earthquake Prone Building Policy amended 2008
The amendment was approved by council on 29 April 2009.  It is due for review before 29 April 2014.

Gambling Venue Policy 
The objective of the policy is to control the extent of Class 4 gambling within the Gisborne district in a manner which will prevent and minimise the potential harm caused by gambling, particularly problem gambling.
