Proposal to close road

Christmas parade

Pursuant to the Local Government Act 1974 Section 342 and the Transport (Vehicular Traffic Road Closure) Regulations 1965, NOTICE IS HEREBY GIVEN that the Gisborne District Council, for the purpose of allowing the Christmas Parade, proposes to close Grey Street from Awapuni Road to Palmerston Road, Palmerston Road from Grey Street to Bright Street, Bright Street from Palmerston Road to Kahutia Street, Kahutia Street from Bright Street to Grey Street, to ordinary vehicular traffic between 3.30pm and 5.30pm on Saturday 5 December 2009. In the event of wet weather, the parade will be held on Sunday 6 December at 3.30pm. Closed roads will be opened as parade passes through the route.

During the proposed period of closure no provision will be made for ordinary vehicular traffic which would otherwise use the road.

Any person objecting to the proposal is called upon to lodge a notice of his or her objection and grounds thereof in writing before 4.00pm Friday 13 November 2009 at the office of the Gisborne District Council, Fitzherbert Street (PO Box 747), Gisborne.
