Rangitukia and Tikitiki Township Plan

Tell us your ideas and suggestions for your township.  Rangitukia and Tikitiki Townships

Here's some information about the next meeting in your town

What is a Township Development Plan?

We want to help you and your community work out what you want to achieve in the Rangitukia and Tikitiki community. Council calls this a township development plan.

This is not a council plan, it is a community plan. The plan will capture the long term vision for the area and guide council in planning for future development over the next 20-years.

Council wants your help in preparing the plan and your thoughts on:

  • what makes Tikitiki and Rangitukia great places to live
  • what things should be recognised and preserved in these townships; and
  • what do you want the towns to be like in 20 years’ time?

How can you get involved?

If you want to make something happen in your community, we welcome your involvement. The success of your plan depends a lot on your local community working together with council and other organisations. Council will help by organising:

  • open days and public workshops
  • children's art competition
  • idea box
  • written submissions process

If you have other ideas for how council should engage with your community, please let us know.

 What happens next?

We will take the information gathered from all of the discussions and submissions and prepare a draft Township Development Plan for Rangitukia and Tikitiki.

We need to look at how we might help make some of the most important things happen and how we can get other agencies involved. Once the draft is finished, we will circulate it for comments to people who got involved.  We hope that within 9 months we will have agreement with the community and other organisations on a final draft.

Then comes the fun part - making it all happen!

How you can contribute

Keep an eye out for posters advertising the workshops and come along. The workshops will be informal discussions and all ideas and contributions will be respected and considered by the community.  If you want to receive information directly about the workshop please contact us and add your name to our register.
