Rates postponement scheme

If you are unable to pay your rates through hardship, you may be able to have your rates postponed.

Optional rates postponement for over 65's

If you are 65 or over and own your own property, you can join council's rates postponement scheme and have your rates paid by the scheme.  Rates postponement means you still owe the rates, but payment is postponed until your property is sold or on settlement of your estate.

You may still be entitled to a rates rebate, and you would need to apply each year.
