Repairs to revetment wall scheduled
Repair work will begin on a section of revetment wall below the Peel Street Bridge next week.
A section of walkway will be closed to pedestrians while repairs are carried out but an alternative route will be clearly signposted.
Tane Tamanui, team leader of Council’s rivers, drainage and coastal operations says the repairs will keep water in the channel of the Taruheru River and prevent erosion of the bank and walkway.
Work is scheduled to begin on Monday 19 March with a target completion of 23 March.
