Saving water in the bathroom

Turn off the tap when cleaning your teeth or shaving - saves 10 litres per minute.

Reduce your shower time to 3 minutes or less - saves 80 litres per shower.

Install water-saving shower heads or flow restrictors - saves 30 litres per shower.

Keep baths to a minimum - saves 70 litres per bath.

Check your toilet for leaks - Put a few drops of food colouring into your toilet tank.  If it appears in the bowl without flushing, you have a leak that needs repairing. Saves up to 32,000 litres per month.

Flush your toilet only as necessary - saves 13-20 litres per flush.

Install a flush saver device or dual flush to your toilet - saves up to 10 litres per flush.
