Smart cards launched for Waka Kura buses

There’s no need to search around for loose change for your school bus fare anymore, following the launch of the new Waka Kura smart cards.

The Waka Kura smart cards can be purchased and registered from the Go Bus office at 34 Banks Street and then used on all Waka Kura buses.

To top-up the smart cards, users need to download a free app available for Android or iPhones. Passengers can then just swipe their card as they board the bus.

The app also has GPS capability so you can keep track of how far away your bus is.

It costs $5 to buy the smart card and the minimum top-up is $10.

The buses will continue to accept cash payments for fares.
