State of the Community Report

Our State of the Community Report measures how well the community is progressing towards desired community outcomes. State of the Community cover
Community outcomes can best be described as long-term aspirations or goals agreed to by the community. These outcomes must be identified at least every 6 years under the 2002 Local Government Act.

To make sure the community is on the right track, councils are required to regularly monitor progress towards community outcomes, and to report on this at least every 3 years. However, the legislative requirements for the community outcomes process are currently under review.

The purpose of this document is to report on the community’s progress towards achieving these community outcomes for the period 1 July 2004 to 30 June 2007.
