Titirangi Revegetation

Restore Titirangi by following the harvesting project and planting
native species.

The restoration of Titirangi is one part of the Tairawhiti Navigations program. 

The restoration project included harvesting a pine forest, re-vegetation of significant areas with natives, weed control and park infrastructure upgrade. 

Project status

11ha of exotic trees removed from 2 sites on Titirangi.
55,000 native plants are now in the ground across the maunga. 
Track maintenance progressing, clearing blackberry.
Removed 80 exotic trees on Rakaiatane site
Total project budget: $1.3 million over 3.5 years
