The Total Mobility Scheme is a national transport scheme that provides subsidised taxi fares for eligible people with a permanent or short-term impairment that prevents them from safely using public transport.
In Gisborne a 50% taxi voucher subsidy applies per trip, up to a maximum fare of $12, of which you would pay $6. You must pay any additional fare over $12.
You can use your taxi vouchers any day of the week – 24 hours a day. You must show your ID card to the taxi driver each time you use a voucher.
Fill in the application form and take it to your doctor to complete the medical sections on the form.
Once it’s filled in, bring the form in to customer service and staff will take your photo for your ID card. Your application will be processed and your ID card and book of 25 taxi vouchers will be posted to you within 10 working days.
When you run out of vouchers – you can either:
