Trees and vegetation to be cleared from The Esplanade
Overgrown palm trees and vegetation causing damage to underground infrastructure will be removed from The Esplanade, near the Gladstone Road Bridge.
Specialist contractors will be onsite from 5.30am tomorrow morning to carry out the removals.
Once the trees and vegetation are cleared, it will open up views of the harbour and railway bridge.
Replacement native planting will follow in the area, along with improved walkway connections to the bridge and river.
Further lighting enhancements to improve safety in the area, particularly at night time, are planned as part of the Inner Harbour redevelopment project.
The work is being completed in consultation with adjoining businesses.
