We monitor the water quality twice a month in summer and monthly in winter.

About Sponge Bay and Tuamotu Island

Sponge Bay is suitable for swimming and surfing.  There's access to Tuamotu Island at low tide. Access to the beach is by steep steps from the car park.

Tuamotu Island is a recognised nationally significant surf break.
