Event - New Zealand Surf Life Saving Championships

Partial closure of Centennial Marine Drive for the duration of the 2025 New Zealand Surf Life Saving National Championships from 6 - 9 March 2025

Centennial Marine Drive will be temporarily closed from the roundabout at Salisbury Road to the main carpark of Kiwa Pools, from 5.45 am - 6 pm on 6 - 9 March 2025.

During the closure no vehicles, other than those authorised by the event will be able to use the road.

There will be shoulder closures and parking lot closures from 5 March and during no-road closure times to protect and delineate parked and stationary gear.

  • Buses visiting Kiwa pools to enter closure point by Kiwa Pool entrance under TTM staff instruction
  • Recreational Services, contractors working at the pools, pool staff and event vehicles will be allowed through the Salisbury RAB closure point only, under TTM staff instruction (SLSNZ entry passes will be handed to relevant parties to assist with seamless entry through closure points)
  • ALL VEHICLES ENTERING THROUGH A CLOSURE POINT MUST COME TO A COMPLETE STOP BEFORE ENTRY WILL BE GRANTED

This notice is issued under the Local Government Act 1974 Section 342 and the Transport (Vehicular Traffic Road Closure) Regulations 1965.
