Pole demand high - get in touch soon

Monday 27 June 2022

A high demand for poles this autumn has led to Poplar and Willow 3m “A” poles already being fully allocated from two of Council’s nurseries.

A pole is cut from an established nursery tree. Harvesting of the poles at Waerenga-o-kuri and Bushmere Road nurseries has already started.

Council’s land management officer Enrique Perez Garcin asks anyone who has already placed an order to please get in touch.

“Please allow plenty of time to arrange your collection. We may not be able to accommodate last-minute requests for pick-ups this year.

“Please also let us know if your circumstances have changed and you no longer require the poles you have ordered so we can re-allocate these to someone else.”

Mr Perez Garcin says there is some smaller material still available from Council nurseries, and he’d be happy to discuss what requirements you have.

“Alternatively, there may still be some larger material available through private nurseries, although demand for those has also been strong.”

To book your collection date/time or to discuss your requirements, please call Enrique on (06) 869 3220 or email Enrique.perezgarcin@gdc.govt.nz
