You need to manage your own rubbish. No rubbish collection service is provided at the site.

Camping is allowed in tents and vehicles - a chemical toilet is required.

About Pouawa Beach

Pouawa is located approximately 18km from Gisborne city. There's good swimming, fishing and diving.

For your safety tents, caravans and vehicles must stay at least 10 metres back from the road edge. A line marking will indicate the 10m boundary.

Rubbish, recycling and waste

You're responsible for managing your own waste.

There's no rubbish collection service provided at the site. Take all your rubbish and recycling home with you or to the nearest transfer station at Gisborne city or Tolaga Bay.

Grey water only may be emptied at designated dump station potties.
