Camping at Pouawa Beach is open until 30 April.
Before you head out, apply for your camping permit online. A valid permit is required before you set up camp.
Tents and vehicles are permitted. A chemical toilet is required.
About Pouawa Beach
Pouawa Beach is located approximately 18 km from Gisborne city and is a popular fishing and diving spot.
For your safety, tents, caravans and vehicles must stay at least 10 metres back from the road edge. A marked line indicates the 10 metre setback area.
Rubbish, recycling and waste
You're responsible for managing your own waste.
There is no rubbish collection service at the site.
Take all your rubbish and recycling with you when you leave. The nearest transfer stations are in Gisborne and Tolaga Bay.
