You must keep your dog under control at all times in a public place. Always clean up after your dog - scoop the poop!

Leash rules for dogs
Dogs must be on a leash at all times in a public spaces within the city area, except in designated off-leash or prohibited area.
See the map below showing the city area (reticulated boundary) in orange.
Leashes are also required in Titirangi Domain and Waihirere Domain.
Off-leash dog exercise areas
You can exercise your dog without a leash, provided they remain under continuous supervision and control at all times.
