A mobility parking permit lets you park in mobility parking spaces and gives you other parking concessions.
Where you can park
You can park in any marked mobility parking space for the time shown on the sign or meter.
Sign-posted mobility parks
Permit holders can park for free for up to 120 minutes, plus an extra 20-minute grace period to return to their vehicle.
Parking in standard spaces
If you park in a standard parking space, you must pay the parking fee shown on the meter or parking machine.
When you display a valid mobility parking permit, you will get a 30-minute grace period after your paid parking time expires.
Displaying your permit
Your permit must be valid and clearly displayed on your windscreen whenever your vehicle is parked.
Misusing a mobility parking space
If you park in a mobility parking space without displaying a valid mobility parking permit, the fine is $750.
This fine is set by central government and enforced by Council. It helps make sure mobility parking spaces are available for the people who need them.

Mobility parking spaces in the city centre
There are 34 marked mobility parking spaces in the city centre). These spaces:
- are wider than standard parking spaces to provide room for wheelchairs and mobility aids
- have their own parking meter
- are marked with blue paint and mobility parking signs.
Mobility parking permits
Council does not issue mobility parking permits.
