The Tairawhiti Civil Defence Emergency Mnagement Group is updating its Group Plan.
This plan explains how our region works together before, during and after emergencies, how decisions are made, and what each agency is responsible for. It will set out the hazard risks we may face, how we aim to reduce risks, and how we will prepare for, respond to, and recover from emergency events. The plan will also outline the investment needed over the next five years and how councils and agencies share costs.
A draft Group Plan will be released for public consultation later this year. People will be able to make submissions. To register your interest and stay updated, please contact the Tairawhiti Emergency Management Office at emplan@gdc.govt.nz.
The draft Group Plan is being prepared under the Civil Defence Emergency Management Act 2002.
