Alcohol licence fees

Alcohol licence fees are set under the Sale and Supply of Alcohol (Fees) Regulations 2013. These regulations apply to licensed premises and other alcohol licence types.

For licensed premises, fees are risk-based. This means you pay both an application fee and an annual fee.

Your fee can change each year. It may be updated if your operating hours or activities change, or if there are enforcement actions involving the licensee or manager.

The fee categories reflect the level of risk. They take into account the type of premises, trading hours and any enforcement history.Fees are calculated using a set formula (Regulations 4 to 8).
