Bring a trailer to Parkview Nursery this weekend if you’d like some free mulch for your garden.
Gisborne District Council will have a digger to load up your trailer between 9am and 3pm on Saturday and Sunday.
Parkview Nursery is next to 1017 Aberdeen Road and there will be signs to ensure road safety.
The free mulch is from last year’s beach clean-ups that has been chipped and left to desalinate for more than six months.
Council Liveable Communities Director Michele Frey says the mulch has not caused any issues for plant growth in sites where it has been used previously.
“This is now available for our community to use in their gardens.
“Bring a trailer this weekend and we’ll load it up for you.”
