A Long Term Plan (LTP) is a roadmap for our region. It sets out what we want to achieve over the next 10 years, including the services, infrastructure and projects we plan to deliver and how we'll pay for them.
Why do we have a Long Term Plan?
By law, councils must have a Long Term Plan. It helps us plan ahead, make informed decisions and be open about how public money is spent. The plan shows:
- the services and infrastructure we'll provide
- the level of service our communities can expect
- how these services and projects will be funded
- what they are expected to cost
- the projects and investments we plan to deliver over the next 10 years.
The Long Term Plan also gives our communities a chance to have their say on the future of our region and the priorities that matter most.
Planning now for 2027 - 2037: Mahi that matters
As we plan for 2027-2037, we're focusing on the mahi that matters: the work that will make the biggest difference for our communities and our region.
By priortising what matters most, we can invest in the services, infrastructure and projects that deliver the greatest benefits now and for future generations.
