Annual ANZAC Dawn service road closures
The following roads will be temporarily closed from 5am to 7.30am on Saturday 25 April 2026 for the ANZAC Dawn Service.
- Fitzherbert Street between Stout Street and Ormond Road.
- Ormond Road briefly for the march to the Cenotaph and return.
- Esplanade between Rutene and Wainui Roads.
- Wainui Road - Gladstone Road Bridge briefly after the service is over.
- Reads Quay - from Gladstone Road to Lowe Street briefly after the service.
- Rawiri Street for approximately 20 metres from the Esplanade.
When the parade moves off after the service, the marchers will go forward and over the Gladstone Road Bridge, then turning into Reads Quay. The parade marchers will be dismissed in Reads Quay.
During the closure no vehicles will be able to use the road.
Anyone objecting to this proposal can make their objection in writing starting the reason why. This must be received by 4pm on Friday 3 April 2026.
This notice is issued under the Local Government Act 1974 Section 342 and the Transport (Vehicular Traffic Road Closure) Regulations 1965.
