In accordance with the Resource Management (National Environmental Standards for Air Quality) Regulations 2004 Council gives notice under Regulation 16 that in July 2026 at the Gisborne Boys High School monitoring station in Gisborne city, a measurement was recorded on the following days;
- 3 July - 55 Concentration µg/m3
- 5 July - 58 Concentration µg/m3
- 12 July - 51 Concentration µg/m3
- 13 July - 71 Concentration µg/m3
- 17 July - 51 Concentration µg/m3
- 18 July - 59 Concentration µg/m3
- 22 July - 60 Concentration µg/m3
These are breaches of the ambient standard for PM10 of 50 μg/ m3 as a 24-hour average.
